Vom 19.08.2019 bis zum 23.08.2019 veranstaltet die Fachschaft zum achten Mal eine Philosophische Sommerakademie. Diese richtet sich primär an alle Philosophie-Studierenden der LMU, aber wir möchten natürlich nicht ausschließen, dass auch andere interessierte Studierende teilnehmen können. Ziel der Sommerakademien ist es, durch einen Intensivkurs (mit ca. neun Teilnehmenden) Einblick in philosophische Themengebiete zu gewähren, die sonst an der LMU weniger oder gar nicht abgedeckt werden. Wir freuen uns sehr, euch dieses Jahr folgende Kurse anbieten zu können (genaue Kursbeschreibungen findet ihr, wenn ihr dem jeweiligen Link folgt):

• Morality and Human Nature: A Study of the Moral Thought of Anscombe, Foot, Midgley, and Murdoch, with Ana Barandalla (London)

• Epistemology for a Cosmopolitan World, with Liam Kofi Bright (London)

• Einführung in die Lektüre antiker chinesischer Denker, am Beispiel von Konfuzius und Zhuangzi, mit Henrik Jäger (Trier/Freiburg)

• Homotopy Type Theory and the Univalent Approach to Foundations of Mathematics, with Stuart Presnell (Bristol)

Die Sommerakademie soll natürlich nicht nur ein philosophisch anregender Retreat sein, sondern auch eine erholsame Woche mit netten Leuten, schöner Umgebung und ausreichend Freizeit. In diesem Jahr fahren wir ins Jugendhaus Elias nach Blaichach im Allgäu, umgeben von den idyllischen Bayerischen Alpen. Die An- und Abreise erfolgt gemeinsam mit dem Zug, Unterkunft und Verpflegung gibt’s im Jugendhaus. All das ist natürlich kostenlos für euch – nur eine Kaution von 50 Euro fällt für euch an, die im Vorherein zu zahlen ist.

Anmelden könnt ihr euch über folgenden Link: Zum Anmeldeformular. Anmeldefrist ist der 27. Juli 2019.

Anmelden müsst ihr euch für einen bestimmten Kurs. Beachtet bitte, dass diese Anmeldung noch nicht fest ist, falls es zu viele Interessenten für einen einzelnen Kurs gibt. Ihr könnt aber eine Zweitwahl angeben, falls ihr euch für mehr als einen der Kurse interessiert. Wir geben euch schnellstmöglich nach Ablauf der Anmeldefrist Bescheid, in welchem Kurs ihr gelandet seid.

From August 19, 2019 to August 23, 2019, the student council will be organising our eighth Philosophical Summer School. This event is primarily directed at all LMU Philosophy students, but we do not want to exclude other interested students from participating. The Summer Schools consist of intensive courses (of around nine participants), which aim at giving insight into topics that are usually underrepresented or completely absent from the LMU’s Philosophy prospectus. We are very glad to be able to offer you the following courses this year (you’ll find more detailed course descriptions by following the respective link):

• Morality and Human Nature: A Study of the Moral Thought of Anscombe, Foot, Midgley, and Murdoch, with Ana Barandalla (London)

Naturally, the Summer School won’t just be a philosophically inspiring retreat. It’s also supposed to be a relaxing week with nice people, a pleasant setting, and ample free time. This year, we’ll be hitting up Jugendhaus Elias in Blaichach, surrounded by the scenic Bavarian Alps of the Allgäu. We’ll be travelling together by train, accommodation and food will be at the youth centre. All of this will be free of charge for all participants – you’ll just have to pay a deposit of 50 Euros in advance.

You’ll have to register for a specific course. Please note that this registration won’t be fixed if there are too many people interested in the same course. Feel free to indicate a second choice, if you’re interested in more than one course. We’ll inform you ASAP about your course after the registration deadline has passed.
